Fleurs : inflorescence en coryrmbe terminal pauvre et lâche, ou réduite à 1 capitule ; bractées involucrales à poils étoilés peu dense [(0-) 3-10 (-20) par bractée mediane], concentrés aux marges, avec de petits poils glanduleux épars (pouvant avorter en cas de sécheresse) ; et normalement aucun poil simple.

Flowers: inflorescence normally purple, fringe hairs uneven and generally not dense; inflorescence a weak and loose terminal corym, or reduced to 1 capitulum; star-haired involucral bracts with star-shaped hairs concentrated in the margins, with a few small glandular hairs and normally no simple hairs.
